15 minutes later I was $600 poorer. It was arguably the best tech purchase I've ever made. After the Apple event today, I got a chance to play with the new iPad for quite a bit of time. My takeaway? The thing is beautiful and fast. Really fast. .... We can't do that everytime. But we now have 75 million (and climbing) people to upsell. Even if only 20% of them take us up at the cheapest version of $500…wait did we just make another $7.5 billion? ...

I like them...and I think that Apple makes some good stuff. But really, this isn't much so far. Just a big honkin' iPod with a few add on apps(that most likely will also be available for iPhone/iPod at some point). I am interested to hear other opinions of the Apple .... Hmm...so I was gonna call this an epic fail, but it seems everybody else made that conclusion already. If pricing for this isn't under $500, it's just another iFangrrl wallet-milking machine. ...

As an editor with a scholarly publishing house, we'd have to abandon 90% of the books we publish in order to hit a $9.99 price point and stay afloat. Lower quality and less choice don't strike me as things that are particularly customer- friendly. ..... Would Amazon have purchased Touchco in an attempt to improve their device offerings without the presence of Apple's iPad? Would Google have improved their offer without the presence of Amazon and Apple? ...
